BIOGRAPHY

Toby Petch is a Cinematographer based in Sydney, Australia. His work moves between narrative projects, documentary, music videos and content creation.

Founded on an early passion for photography, his career began at a Sydney film production company specialising in high end cinematic advertising.

After seeing boundless visual possibilities in cinematography, he trained at Panavision Australia working in preparation, testing and maintenance of professional film and digital camera equipment.

While shooting independent projects on an array of formats, Toby learned in the field, working as a Clapper Loader on drama, feature films and commercials.

In 2011 he was invited to study a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, studied under dual fellowships and graduating in 2015.

Hoping to convey messages of hope, community and equality, Toby has collaborated with many diverse directors internationally. As a strong believer in equal opportunity, safety and a harassment free workplace, being mindful, anti-discrimination and enforcing a risk free working environment is paramount at all times.
